Jennifer Ellen, owner of Ellen Macy Events, is a creative and passionate event consultant with over a decade of event management experience. Ellen Macy Events is the culmination of Jennifer’s vast event experience and her personal dedication to providing the very best to those looking to plan special occasions on the Cape.
Growing up in Chatham, Jennifer developed a true passion for the charms of Cape Cod. As an event consultant with local expertise, Jennifer has developed a deep understanding of the multitude of details involved in planning special occasions on the Cape. From her ability to understand the vision of others and translate it into event design, to savvy negotiations or cost savings techniques, Jennifer handles events from beginning to end with grace and style. She ensures the client’s vision and wishes are top priority throughout the process.
Event Management Experience
Over the past 10 years, Jennifer has held positions in event management in the publishing, biotech, consulting and insurance industries. Jennifer has planned events ranging in scope and size from large scale multi-day conferences, exhibits and corporate events for hundreds, to intimate social affairs— including book launches for renowned authors, children’s holiday parties and elegant dinner receptions.
Jennifer’s event management experience has taken her from coast-to-coast in the U.S. She has worked with a vast array of vendors, design houses, production companies, florists, and transportation and destination management companies at numerous unique venues and hotels. She has produced events internationally in countries including China, Belgium, India and Australia, to name a few.
Education
Jennifer received her BA in Communications from Fairfield University. While working in the events industry in Boston, she returned to school to complete her Event Management Certificate at NorthEastern University’s School of Continuing Education. She also joined MPI (Meeting Planners International) and has been an active member since 2003, currently serving on the education and program planning committee. She is currently pursuing her Certified Meeting Professional accreditation. Jennifer frequently attends industry education events and tradeshows to stay on top of the latest wedding and event design trends, expanding her relationships, and deepening her knowledge of the Cape Cod bridal industry.
